After studying in the pharmaceutical industry, the more I learnt - the less I wanted to know. From dangerous supplement & food fillers (used in anti-freeze), to hypocritical medications that in one breath fix a problem, and in the next cause a worse; I’ve been lucky to have gained the insight, and time to garnered this knowledge - but I truly believe it should not be gate-kept for a moment longer!
Ever since, I have dedicated myself to mastering the intricacies of holistic, ethical and truly safe dog ownership. Through years of experience and guidance from the most seasoned-of-mentors, I've honed my own breeding practices, striving for health and wellness. My mission is simple, I want to empower my fellow breeders, both new and seasoned, with the holistic knowledge and wisdom it's taken me over a decade to gather. The Breeders Brew gives me the perfect opportunity to share the generational secrets and nuggets of invaluable insight, I had handed to me. I firmly believe that every passionate breeder deserves access to this wealth of knowledge, regardless of their experience level. Whether you're embarking on your breeding journey for the first time or seeking to enhance your current ethical practices, I hope our Podcast will be your beacon of guidance and likeminded community.

Frankly, I'm a little frustrated by the prevalence of 1-day or weekend 'breeding courses'. It's impossible to grasp everything necessary for successful breeding in such a short timeframe. After all, I've been in the field for over 30 years and still find myself learning. Through my prior corporate career, I've come to believe that continuous growth and learning are essential for mastering any skill, especially in an area as complex as breeding, particularly for those who only have occasional litters.
People learn best when they can apply new knowledge directly to their experiences or quickly find solutions to their current problems. The Breeder's Brew podcast, co-hosted by Isobel and myself, serves precisely this purpose. It's tailored for responsible breeders, providing valuable insights and practical advice. Additionally, we offer free tools that can be referenced indefinitely, ensuring ongoing support for breeders at all levels. While my role in the Canine Family Planner™ network allows me to connect with and support breeders, the podcast extends my reach, enabling me to positively impact a broader audience. Ultimately, I aim to enhance the well-being of both you and your dogs, thereby elevating the standard of care and the quality of puppies born.
